An industrial customer needed a 2500 HP, 2-pole squirrel cage induction motor in an 8411S frame. PMW supplied a General Electric 8411S frame, WPII enclosure motor from our inventory, then fully remanufactured it in our Okmulgee shop under job 44780-1.

Motor Specifications

The motor is a 2-pole squirrel cage induction motor rated at 4160 volts in a WPII (Weather Protected Type II) enclosure. The 8411S frame is a large-bodied design common in power plant auxiliary and heavy industrial service, and the two-pole configuration delivers the high speed needed for pump and compressor drives at 3570 RPM.

Remanufacturing and Inspection

The motor was fully disassembled, inspected, and remanufactured. Every major component — stator, rotor, bearing housings, end brackets, and frame — was evaluated and brought back to like-new condition. Bearing fits and shaft journals were inspected and verified to proper tolerances. The housing and end frames were cleaned and repainted.

Accessory inspection and functionality testing, electrical machinery assembly diagnostics, and horizontal motor dimensions were all documented and confirmed satisfactory.

Final Assembly and Paint

After reassembly, the motor received a complete paint job. Masking was applied to protect machined surfaces, conduit boxes, and other areas during the coating process.

The finished motor was a complete, remanufactured unit ready for installation — supplied directly from PMW inventory with a significantly shorter lead time than a new motor purchase.
